We need to pull out all the stops NOW!! Do you want to change California’s flawed accountability system? Do you want to ensure that teachers and schools (especially schools with significant numbers of English learners) have data that accurately measures the academic performance of English learners?
We need your help now!! Do you want to make sure Charter Schools provide an appropriate and quality education to students who are English learners!! Contact your Senator in their Capitol office and ask him/her to vote “yes” on AB 1741 (Coto) Charter Schools.
A symposium targeted for county, district and school site leadership teams to learn about the existing research on Long Term English Learners. Information will be shared on who the students are, what we know about their needs and how to design effective systems, programs and services to meet the needs of these students.
Each attendee will receive a copy of a new publication on Long Term English Learners authored by one of the presenters, Dr. Laurie Olsen. The symposium is scheduled for November 16, 2010 and will be held at Oakland Airport Hilton, California.
For district teams who want to learn how to adopt a Seal of Biliteracy and leave with a implementation plan. Register early online or download the registration form!
